Trudeau is criticized by Amarinder: “There is a strong perception that Trudeau is using Punjabis to sustain his govt, without realizing decline in his affinity with them,” added former Punjab chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh.
The Awadh Times, New Delhi: Captain Amarinder Singh, the former chief minister of Punjab, attacked the Trudeau administration in Canada on Monday, saying that a “government that patronizes a terrorist or a separatist movement for political gain, is irresponsible and to a point criminal.”
In a statement released on “X,” he directly attacked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for his accusations against India, saying, “One ambitious man shouldn’t be able to rock a stable friendship that has existed for decades.”
On a day when news broke of a Sikh separatist attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada, Singh stated, “Punjab and India as a whole could then look towards a bright and stable future,” citing surveys that suggested Trudeau would be leaving.
“It is uncommon for countries that have been friends for decades to end up like Canada and India today,” Singh continued. Following the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, an individual with strong separatist beliefs, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blamed India for the crime in a parliamentary statement.

Captain Amarinder Singh has previously retaliated against Trudeau.
Singh criticized the Canadian prime minister a few days ago for “destroying” India-Canada relations, implying that his sole goal is to win over Sikhs in Canada.
Later on, Trudeau claimed that although he had hard proof, “the fingers pointed in that direction.” A prime minister’s declaration is regarded as the truth and only the truth, thus this in and of itself is a breach of the sanctity of parliament,” Singh wrote on Monday.
Furthermore, “Are electoral pressures more significant than long-standing legislative customs, national obligations, and relationships? Trudeau seems to think so.
“I was aware of Canada’s approach to Sikh extremism being prevalent in that country, which was fast growing to which Trudeau not only turned a blind eye, but also patronized such people to enhance his political base,” Singh said when he was the chief minister of Punjab.
“I declined to meet him when he (Trudeau) sent his Sikh defense minister to Punjab because he was an active member of the World Sikh Organization, which at the time was the parent organization of the Khalistani movement, which was then led by his father.”
Singh added that when he went to Punjab a few months later, Trudeau would not meet with him “until he was told in no uncertain terms” by Sushma Swaraj, the external affairs minister at the time, that he would not be allowed to visit the state unless he met the chief minister.
In addition, Singh mentioned in his statement that he met Trudeau in Amritsar, who was accompanied by Sajjan, the Canadian defense minister at the time.
“I assume it’s an attempt to surprise me! I told him bluntly about Punjab’s issues with Canada. It had turned into a safe haven for gangsters, drug trafficking, and the Khalistani separatist movement, which none of the Punjabis desired. I sent him a list of more than twenty influential people who were actively participating in this movement; some of them were also in his cabinet, and one of them was seated next to him.
Singh, who was with the Congress before joining the BJP, claimed that although Trudeau had pledged to investigate the complaints, “since our meeting, these nefarious activities have grown.”
He wrote, “The Kanishka bombing and the other acts that continue to destabilize Punjab are no longer on his mind.”
Singh had canceled his planned seven-day trip to Canada in 2016 because he might be charged with torture in a Toronto court.
Singh further criticized the Canadian prime minister for blaming Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.
“In an attempt to deflect attention from himself, Trudeau severed diplomatic relations by first claiming that our security services orchestrated Nijjar’s murder and then naming the officers he says were in charge.” He then goes on to criticize our National Security Advisor before blaming Mr. Amit Shah, India’s Home Affairs Minister.
There is a strong belief that Trudeau is exploiting Punjabis to maintain his government, Singh continued, “without realizing the decline in his affinity with them in his own country and even in India.” “Our economy continues to stagnate as industry always enters when it visualises peace and stability,” the former chief minister added.
Singh stated that “time” is a healer and emphasized “better relations” with Canada.
“Time will tell in Trudeau’s case when he goes to the polls next year,” he continued. According to rumors, these are his final months and his luck has run out.
