The Awadh Times, Mumbai (Khamgaon): In a statement that was released on Thursday, an official reportedly stated that the government of Maharashtra has given its consent for the establishment of a “deputy regional transport office” (Dy RTO) in Khamgaon, which is situated inside the Buldhana district. The MH-56 is the vehicle registration number that corresponds to this office.

He stated that as a result of this, the number of Deputy RTOs in the state would increase to 32, while the total number of RTOs in the state will become 24. Earlier, deputy RTOs were established in Ichalkaranji (MH-51), Chalisgaon (MH-52), Phaltan (MH-53), Bhadgaon (MH-54) and Udgir (MH-55).
In June of the previous year, the state government gave its approval for the upgradation of several deputy RTOs to full-fledged RTOs. These deputy RTOs included Pimpri-Chinchwad, Jalgaon, Solapur, Vasai, Ahmednagar, Chandrapur, Akola, Borivali, and Satara.
In the decision that was published by the government throughout the day, the state transport commissioner was given the responsibility of selecting officers to the Khamgaon deputy RTO office who are responsible for licensing, registration, and taxing operations.
Additionally, it instructs the transport commissioner to acquire land for the new RTO office, in addition to assigning an interceptor vehicle, provided that the vehicle review committee gives its permission.
